Dear Sandy,

Hi! How’s it going? It’s great to hear that you still keep your English up and try to work as hard as you can. Hope, you’re doing your best to become as sharp as a tack! I’m also glad to hear that you have read a few books in English and have watched many good films and maybe you even have found out your favorite ones. I can’t keep my lips sealed anymore and I’m eager to share with you my emotions and impressions over the last time.

I’m writing to tell you all about the highlights, challenges, and conclusions of the last month and a half of months. For starters, I’d like to tell you about the so-called “Shadow Repetition” which I tried for the first time on the fourteenth of February. Let me tell you, this is one of the best things which I have ever done in my life. It’s familiar to some kind of a brainstorm. This procedure consists of dictation, listening, writing and speaking. Mainly, this is like a workout for your memory and attention. So please try to spend an hour at least doing this every day in order to improve your memory and attention.

Another highlight was when we’re supposed to write 20 specific things we enjoy. The following day we brought some nice gifts to each other, and it was one of the most memorable moments in my life.

Also have got one more thing to share. I don’t want to come off as a know-it all or a boaster but we started reading our second Pleasure Reading book “Fahrenheit 451”. Frankly, I have always wanted to read this book, and I have been also highly recommended to read it by my friends. But now I can say with a hint of pride that I have already read more than a half of the book. I find this book rather interesting and even philosophical and psychological because of many symbols and signs. No doubt, this book helps me to express my thoughts in writing and orally much better because this story makes me think deeply about the personal world of each character. I became interested in the observation of a character’s feelings and their personal skeletons in their closets.

Oh, I also would like to tell you the story which happened to me in the middle of April. It was a warm spring Friday evening. I was sitting at home watching the series when my phone rang. It was my friend, and he asked me whether I wanted to go for a walk. I took him up on his offer and said that I would come along. It was getting late, and we had to wrap up in our sweatshirts because of the cool wind. We came to the lake and sat on the bank looking at the scarlet sunset and many gulls that were crying loudly rushing above the water. Then when the last sun rays faded away we decided to continue our walk. We were talking a couple of hours when suddenly my friend remarked that the sky covered with twinkling stars looked marvelous. Then we decided to find a place that would be perfect for stargazing and at long last, we сlimbed onto the roof of one of the small houses. We were sitting on it looking at the stars and counting falling ones sharing our plans for the nearest future. After this, I felt some kind of a relief because I eventually could get all my feelings off my chest.

So, you also wanted to know about my plans for Spring Break. Honestly, I’m not planning something grand for this vacation because I supposed to do many home assignments. Anyway, I’m happy that I will be as busy as a bee in order to keep my English up during these 12 days.

One last thing I would like to remind you of is to continue writing the list of the things which you are grateful for. I consider this a life hack personally for me, because when I learn how to thank people and other things around me, I feel that I get rid of depression, anger and anxiety. It doesn’t make sense when you in a sulk and you blame other people in your sorrow. My advice is to be kind. To yourself and to the others.

Hope you’re happy today and you’re smiling right now when you’re reading my letter. Take heart! If I could go through all of this, you can go through all the difficulties and problems too.

Hugs,

Your Sandy from the past
