Theater
To begin with, a great love to the theater harks back to my childhood. My mother always wanted me to understand and relish this kind of art. Probably the reason was that she not only enjoyed it herself, but because when she was young she endeavored to work as an actress. Nevertheless this is a completely different story. As far back as I can remember I regularly visited at first the puppet theater and then, having grown up, it converted into me going to the drama theater with my friends every month. Especially I went there very frequently after moving to Nizhny Novgorod while exploring its cultural peculiarities.
Speaking for myself, I rave about this art form. It is always a great pleasure to watch actors’ vivid emotions, absorb the atmosphere and to applaud standing in a crowd of people in the very end of the play. However the most magical thing is that the playwright and the troupe bring a feeling of immediacy that makes you feel as though you’re involved in the action that is happening now.
And it doesn’t really matter what the genre of the play is, the only thing is if the play is based on the novel, I’d rather have a look at it before the performance. I can’t explain this but I like to know the plot bearing in mind everything and watch actors act out dialogs and situations. Though at times I still can watch something new not knowing what will happen.
There was one play in my life which I watched with my aunt and my mother when I was about 12 years old and which produced quite a deep and lasting impression on me. Unfortunately it slipped my mind and I cannot remember the title but it was a comedy and the action took place in the 1930s in Italy. No doubt, it was spectacular and when the actors finish the play the audience was delirious with delight. According to the plot there were special containers filled with water which represented a pond, and when the performance was over the actor started splash water over people, which added more positive emotions and laughing.
Summing up, the theater is one of my favorite art forms because it gives you an opportunity to see people’s real emotions and to savor actors’ talents dexterously being showed right on the stage.
